Policies

Policies are the comprehensive text that details every aspect of the company’s rules, expectations, and business operations. It is the goal to ensure that your policies are implemented consistently and in compliance across your organization.

For example, the employee handbook outlines the organization’s expectations of employee’s standard of conduct and the Policy-Procedures Manual details the process for dealing with employees who violate their expectation and the code of conduct. 

Procedures

follow those policies and are the written actions needed to complete each process. Procedures manage the approach to administering written agreements of the employer. Such as, Employment-at-will policy, employees may resign from the organization and at time and employee may be terminated by the organization at any time, for any reason, and with or without notice.

Policy and Procedure manuals are the information that is needed to explain a policy and have a deeper understanding of the process of how to handle any situation.
